At the very heart of Say Yes is the desire to help the poor and needy people in other countries become self-sufficient. The best way to do that is to start a business, which can be a daunting challenge to anyone, especially a widow without an education and no start up funds.
We have found building relationships at the individual level is the best approach. So instead of connecting folks with large organizations that provide micro finance loans, we prefer to work to empower the one person or one family with business funding, prayer, and connecting them with others we have worked with successfully. However, that typically means starting on a much smaller scale. Each family we help to start a business is encouraged to eventually help others to do the same.
